Terms of use

Draft for legal review. Last updated 7 November 2026.

Silvo is provided by Xpedite Partners Pty Ltd (ABN 34 687 225 832). By making a family account you agree to these terms.

What Silvo is for

Feedback on drafts of written school assignments, for a family's own children. The account holder must be a parent or guardian, aged 18 or over.

Estimates are estimates

Silvo's estimated mark is a guide, not the teacher's mark. The teacher's judgement is what counts. Silvo does not guarantee any mark.

Your child's work stays theirs

Silvo does not write or rewrite work, and does not claim any rights in what a family uploads beyond what it needs to give feedback.

Price, trial and cancelling

Family plan: A$199 a year or A$24 a month, including GST, for every child in the family up to 5. Trial: your family's first 2 assignments, with every draft, free: no card and no time limit (or the free period a personal invitation code gives). When your family starts a third assignment, Silvo asks whether you'd like to subscribe to the Family plan, at A$199 a year or A$24 a month. The trial takes no payment details, so nothing is charged unless you choose to subscribe. If you don't, the 2 free assignments keep all their drafts, and you can still sign in and take a copy of everything for 90 days, when your family and everything in it is deleted. Silvo emails you before that happens. Cancelling: Cancel online any time, in two clicks. A yearly subscription runs to the end of the year you've paid for and a monthly one to the end of the month, and you aren't charged again. After that, feedback stops, but you can still sign in and take a copy of everything for 90 days, when your family and everything in it is deleted. Silvo emails you before that happens, and before each yearly renewal. Pausing: On the monthly plan you can pause for up to 8 weeks, free, instead of cancelling. Refunds: If Silvo isn't right for your family, ask within 30 days of your first payment and Silvo refunds it in full. Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Each plan covers every assignment your children need, under fair use (below).

Fair use

Use Silvo for your own children's schoolwork. Don't:

  • upload other people's personal information beyond what an assignment needs, or anything you don't have the right to share;
  • upload anything unlawful;
  • try to get around Silvo's limits or safety checks, reach another family's information, or overload the service;
  • share your account with people outside your family, or resell access to it.

Suspending and closing an account

If an account breaks these terms, Silvo may suspend it. Silvo tells you why first and gives you a chance to put it right, unless the risk is urgent, such as to a child's safety or another family's information. You aren't charged for time an account is suspended. You can close your account, and delete your family and everything in it, at any time; deleting your family also ends your subscription, and nothing more is charged. If Silvo stops the service, it gives you at least 30 days' notice and refunds any paid time you haven't used.

AI at school

Whether and how AI may be used on an assignment is your child's school's decision. Follow its rules; if it asks students to declare AI use, the feedback can be printed with a line saying so.

Liability

Silvo is built with care, but its feedback and estimates can be wrong: check them against the teacher's instructions. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes the consumer guarantees and other rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Subject to that, Silvo isn't liable for indirect or consequential loss, and its total liability to you is limited to the greater of A$100 and the fees you paid Silvo in the 12 months before the claim, counting a yearly fee paid in that time in full.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, including the price, Silvo emails the account holder at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you don't agree, you can cancel before then and you won't be charged under the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Queensland, and the courts of Queensland can hear any dispute about them.
