Privacy policy

Draft for legal review. The facts below are how Silvo works; the policy wording needs a lawyer's review before launch. Last updated 7 November 2026.

This policy covers Silvo, run by Xpedite Partners Pty Ltd (ABN 34 687 225 832). Silvo follows the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What Silvo collects

  • From a parent or guardian: email address and a password (stored only as a hash).
  • For each child: first name, year level, age, and anything the parent chooses to tell Silvo to keep in mind. Never a surname, school or date of birth.
  • What a family uploads: marking guides, task sheets and drafts, including photos of pages.
  • What Silvo makes: feedback, estimates, and whether a child rated the feedback helpful.
  • On this website: what you type into the sign-up or contact form, and page views and clicks counted without cookies or personal identifiers.

How it is used

To give feedback, to run the family's account, to keep Silvo safe (including safeguarding alerts to the parent), and to reply to you. Not for advertising, and not sold or shared with schools.

Who else handles it

To write feedback, Silvo sends marking guides and drafts to an AI model provider, Anthropic (Claude). It hides children's first names first (unless the parent turns this off in Family settings); photographed pages are read as pictures first, and names are hidden after that reading. Nothing a family uploads is used to train a model.

Your family's information is stored in Malaysia today: the Silvo app, its database, uploaded files and backups run on servers rented from Hostinger. They move to servers in Australia before Silvo opens to every family, and this page will say so when they have. Other service providers: Cloudflare carries traffic to the app; Postmark sends Silvo's emails, including password resets and messages from this website's forms; Cloudflare forwards email sent to Silvo, including those messages, to Silvo's inbox at Google (Gmail); Vercel hosts this website, handles its forms and counts visits without cookies.

Information goes overseas only to these providers. Hostinger runs Silvo's servers in Malaysia today, until they move to Australia. The others are United States companies, which may store or handle it in the United States and other countries: Anthropic, which receives marking guides and drafts to write feedback; Cloudflare, which carries traffic to the app and forwards Silvo's incoming email; Postmark, which carries Silvo's emails; Google, which holds Silvo's inbox, including messages from this website's forms; and Vercel, for this website and its forms.

Children

Children have no account of their own. For a child under 13, a parent consents before Silvo reads anything of theirs; Silvo records who consented, when, and to which version of the terms.

How long it is kept

Uploaded files and photos: deleted after 90 days. Feedback: until the family is deleted. Backups: about two weeks. A family that doesn't subscribe after its free trial, or whose subscription ends: deleted, with everything in it, 90 days after the trial or the subscription ends, after an email warning. Website form messages (in Silvo's inbox): a sign-up is deleted when the family joins or after 12 months, whichever comes first; a contact message after 12 months.

Your choices

A parent can take a copy of everything, or delete the family and everything in it, from Family settings. You can ask to see or correct your information, or complain, at privacy@silvo.com.au. If you are not satisfied with the reply, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
